Appendix K:  Imperial/Metric Conversions

Oval flint back02Depending on who was writing, and when, some of the quotations feature feet, inches, yards and miles, others feature millimetres, centimetres, metres and kilometres. For the sake of those who cannot translate automatically between the two and wish to know how to work out a measurement in the more familiar format, this section provides links to online conversion calculators. At some future time it will feature a calculator of its own, but for the moment I haven’t worked out how to do it!

These sites all offer the same calculator service but depending on your preference, one may be more usable than another, so a number are offered:
